The Rationale behind the Project:
Building on the foundations of the Northern River Region:
The AG Network Project draws on the research and statistics compiled by Regional Development Australia – Northern Rivers (RDA-NR) in the Northern Rivers Regional Plan 2013-2016.
The AG Network Project endeavours to work towards building on the vision, goals and priorities of RDA-NR outlined in the Regional Plan.
The quote by Dr Ian Tiley (Chairman of RDA-NR 2016) taken from the Northern Rivers Regional Plan 2013-2016, best sums up the great need to seek out new ways to work together to build and strengthen the communities in which we live. Referring to the regional plan, he said,
” This is a plan for everyone in our region. The desired outcomes will not be achieved by organisations or individuals working in isolation, they will need the collaboration, co-operation and determination of many people from all walks of life”
The Project:
The AG Network Project has been designed to build on the foundations of previous programs which have been delivered to communities in various parts of the Northern Rivers Region. Finding new ways to encourage the industry sectors to work together as a united team, is paramount in growing the health and prosperity of the region.
The AG Network Project aims to encourage all sectors of the local community and Industry Leaders in the region to work together to increase economic growth within the Northern Rivers Region of Northern NSW.
The Vehicle:
The Network Project will provide the region with a ‘community building’ vehicle allowing Industry Leaders to engage with the local community, connect with all levels of business, grow the economy and provide support for the future community projects.
Underpinning the network project will be the cyclic process where local businesses will be strengthening the local community and working collaboratively with the local residents who make up the local community. This process will be nurtured throughout the campaign;

The AG Network Project will;
1. Build a stronger Business Network in the Northern Rivers Region.
2. Establish a sustainable Community Funding system for NFP Organisations & Community-based Groups.
3. Provide rewards and incentives for members of the community to support their local economy.
4. Generate additional funds to create and sustain employment for the young job seekers leaving school and higher education.
